Cannabinoid-based medicine already shows significant scientific potential in several areas. At the same time, the evidence in many fields is not yet comprehensive enough to reliably assess this potential and develop it further in a targeted manner.<\/p>\n

Project OncoC<\/h2>\n

Cannabinoid-based research in the oncological context<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

OncoC investigates the potential of cannabinoid-based approaches in oncology and how these can be further researched in a scientifically sound manner and translated into a robust clinical context. The focus is on supportive effects as well as possible complementary effects in combination with standard therapies. The aim is to systematically develop promising approaches and create the foundation for standardized medical applications and further drug development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n\n\t

The focus is on supportive and symptom-relieving effects, such as those related to pain, nausea, cachexia, and sleep disturbances. Furthermore, we are investigating potential complementary effects in combination with existing standard therapies, particularly where there is evidence of enhanced therapeutic effects and an influence on resistance mechanisms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

There is already promising scientific evidence in various oncological contexts. This includes supportive effects as well as consistent biological signals that cannabinoid-based approaches, in combination with standard therapies, have relevant potential that should be further investigated, for example in connection with recurrent glioblastoma, leukemia models, and aggressive tumor forms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

OncoC aims to systematically deepen existing knowledge, better classify it, further develop it clinically, and transfer it into a more robust scientific foundation. In the field of epilepsy, there are already relevant discussions and scientific approaches to cannabinoid-based medicine. At the same time, there is a further need for in-depth research, precise classification, and systematic development. With this project, we aim to contribute to opening up new scientific perspectives and strengthening the foundation for better-informed medical applications and further developments.

Rare and under-recognized diseases often fall by the wayside in research and healthcare. It is precisely in these cases that it can be beneficial to examine promising cannabinoid-based approaches more closely, to better classify them scientifically, and to further develop them. With this project area, we aim to generate new momentum for research, medical applications, and greater visibility.
